    Measure fro sterring cable

What's the best method to measure for a replacement steering cable? Is there some formula?

Can't you just measure the cable you are replacing?

I dont know if there is a formula for this but I do know from replacing mine that after the cable goes down into the bilge it goes forward a bit then turns around. So If you take a couple measurements and add a little to it you might be ok.

Here is another one of my great drawings.....

Maybe someone else has an idea?

Unbolt your old cable from the tiller arm, tie a rope to it and pull old steering cable out. Look for small white writing on cable and the last two digits will be the length of the cable.

It will stamped close to either end. You might could find it without removing the old cable.
