    Dual Speedometer Operation

I have a 2000 21i with dual speedos that don't function the same. One seems to work fine, but the second one either doesn't work at all or responds very sluggishly. If you set the throttle at a fixed speed the second speedo will slowly climb until it reads the same as the first. Is this normal operation? It seems like the second speedo is providing an averaged speed. If this isn't normal, any ideas what could be causing this type of behavior?

    Thanks!

mine did the same thing, no matter how many times I flushed out the pick-ups it always did what you are describing. My solution was to have my Perfect Pass upgraded to the wakeboard pro and it is mounted in the center of my dash right where the old spedo use to be.....

Yup, flushed those suckers out several times and no change. I'm considering the same solution as yours, install a Perfect Pass where the "odd" speedo is. Did you do the install yourself?

      Thanks!

My boat is a 1999 2200V, it came with the perfect pass cruise system. That system lasted until about 2001. Then perfect pass came out with the wakeboard pro system and offered me a deal to upgrade since I had so much trouble with the original system. So long story short my dealer installed both systems. The new one is sweet. It has a thru hull paddle wheel so the speed is always constant and it also has a digital display with speed on it as well...Here is a picture of the dash and you can see the old perfect pass in white to the lower right of the stering wheel and the new one in the center ....

Before spending $1300 on a fancy speedo try following the black rubber tube off the back of the speedo and looking for a kink or wire tie pinching it.

The $1300 will get you a great deal more than just a fancy speedo, as you can see from looking at the many posts on this site PP is something everybody wants or everybody has on their boat. No boat should be sold without it.
