I am looking at a 2005 24V that I might purchase with an intercooler and want to know if there is anything to check for when getting the intercooler cooling system. The engine is the 380 hp model and has about 30 hours. Any info will help.

Here is a previous thread about someone that had an overheating 6.0 with the closed cooling.

Not to scare you away from the boat at all but some of the 6.0's have had percolation issues with the fuel supply. I know there is a fix but would suggest a dealer handles it. If you have questions on the 6.0 I would give my dealer a call as he has that motor in his Tige and is the one that came up with the fix. His name is Dom Forte, his website is www.inboardconnection.com and his number is 888-517-3178. I know he has helped several other owners and dealers with this exact problem. I hope all works out with the 24v.

Congrats!Should run flawlessly
I was talking to someone in another thread about putting in a sea strainer to keep junk out of the impeller which is what I have on my boat since I run in a lot of sea grass and also beach for hanging out a bit. Below is the thread with some pictures of where mine is mounted and also a link to the site that has the sea strainers. It might be something simple and inexpensive to keep stuff out of the heat exchanger. The mesh that the strainer is made out of is quite fine and does a good job of keeping out even our fine sand we have here on the Gulf Coast.
Post some pics when you can.
