    TAPS

Why does my taps wake plate default to wakeboard everytime I shut off my engine?

Is this something all Tige boats do or can it be changed?

That is how the 2003 models with the Lenco system work.

My 03,21i also resets to the raised setting.I would like to have it reversed as you would like it down to start off.

If you take the orange wire going to the taps control box and rewire it so it has power all the time your trim plate will remane where you left it. Dom @ Fortes Inboard Connection If you have a question about the wiring call me at 1 888 517 3178.

With the Lenco eletrical units they have to be reset after a set number of cycles, so Tige has it set so it resets when you turn the key to the off position.

I have a 2004 20i that I use in show skiing competition , I called lenco a few years back to see if there was a way to keep taps where it was for my use , they were the ones who gave me the info on moveing the orange wire. The orange wire is the signal wire to let the taps go to default . By moving it to constant power it stays where you last had it set. Dom@ Fortes Inboard Connection

Whats the easiest thing to connect the orange wire to to get constant power?

You could hook it to an accessory switch and turn the switch off once a day.

If you hook the orange wire up to where it can be switched off , it will always go back to default , which is taps in wakeboard position, thats how it currently works. You can hook it to any constant power source under the dash that doesnt turn off with key . The orange wire is not a power source for the taps but only a signal wire very small guage.

If the TAPS control box is black with about 8 wires coming out of it, I found it. I also noticed the orange wire is going to the gas gauge. Why is that? I also can wire it to the tower lights accesory. Anything else I should know?

The guages are powered by the key so they just tag off of that position.
