What is the correct Oil Sending Unit for my 5.7 l?

I have a 2006 Tige 20v and the oil pressure quit working; stuck at 20PSI. I ordered another oil sending unit from Amazon and now the oil pressure is pegged at 80 PSI. So, obviously this is NOT the correct sending unit. There are no numbers on the original sending unit, and so it is hard to match.

    Thanks,
    Al

From Marine Power. If yours is analog go back to Sender and Sensors page and it will be there

The picture you show is not the same as the one I have. The following is what my oil sending unit looks like. Thanks anyway

With the key on, unplug the sender wire, does the gauge go to zero? If not, its not the sender.

Yes, it does go to zero, and so I'm pretty sure it's the sender. I've read that the gauge and sender have to be matched, but I have yet to find the proper part number...

            Thanks for responding,

Link I posted in post #5 is straight from MP. Their number is at the top of the page if you want to call and confirm. Most boat manufacturers buy engines complete so I doubt Tige would have changed sender to something else after they got it to the factory.

Yes, the sender has to have the correct internal rheostat.

Monkeyed with this last week on a 95 Hydrodyne with a GT40 PCM. previous owner swapped the sender for a manual gauge laid on top the engine. Tried a $10 one from the auto parts store before ordering a PCM one and got the same pegged gauge. Since we replaced the hole gauge package, figured it was worth a try.

Thanks for responding. I'm off to buy a manual gauge now. Disappointed that no part number or any numbers were on the original sending unit. The part number I got from Amazon is 18-5899, which is what a previous reply said I needed; it obviously is not correct. Well, it looks like I will need to do some further troubleshooting.

                  Thanks again,
                  Al

I bought an oil pressure test gauge from Harbor Freight and installed it on the boat. My oil pressure measured between 50-80 PSI and so my engine is OK and the problem was definitely with the sending unit. It turns out the new sending unit I bought from Amazon read 0 Ohms and is bad; go figure. I went down to the local boat dealer and bought another one and now everything works great.
                    Thanks again,
