I've been having some problems with my MarinePower engine in my '98 21i and need to check the fuel pump pressure. My mechanic says he is too busy to do this until after Labor Day weekend and then I don't have the time for a while so is this something I can do myself? What kind of instrument is required? The comment I got from MarinePower is to check the high and low pressure pumps or something similar to that. What does that mean? The engine is a 350 EFI which starts, idles and runs great up to 3/4 thottle and/or under hard aceleration like when pulling fat boys like me up on a slalom. After 3/4 thottle, the engine begins to slow down but doesn't miss, just doesn't have the power it should. I have more rpms and torque at 3/4 thottle than wide open.
Any ideas??
