Lanyard kill switch question

I just purchased a 2001 21i. Does this boat have a lanyard kill switch. The owners manual shows it by the shifter but it's def not there.

I have a 05 22V i got three years ago and still haven't found mine. I am the second owner and can only assume they removed it.

Not all boats had them in the early years.
