    red light on dash

I drove my 2006 24ve tige boat all day with no problems. After dinner, we drove at 10 mph because it was night and as soon as I started giving it gas the motor wouldn't go above 2000 RPMs and the red light came on??? The engine almost died. Trying to figure out why?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oil gauge was fine, temperature was fine, half tank of gas.....

Someone more with a little more knowledge will chime in, but I'm thinking that red light is transmission/drive related.. Check those levels and see what you've got. While your at it, check your oil just in case.. Just because you've got pressure on the guage doesn't mean it can't still be low and tripping an alarm sensor

Same boat all the way around, the red light is in fact the V-Drive pressure light. Usually on when at idle or below 1000RPM until you start making pressure when at higher speeds. If the light is on above 2k RPM check your fluid in the trans and V-Drive my guess is your ver very low.

When you say the motor almost died, did the motor back fire or pop? Was the motor laboring or knocking? That almost sounds like a high pressure fuel pump issue. Need a little more info to diagnose
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Man this forum is great!! Thanks everyone so much!! The motor did not die or pop, labor or knock, it just wouldn't go above 1000rpm before going back to 1000rpm as soon as I gave it gas. I'm guessing you guys are correct about the transmission/V-Drive fluid. Again, thanks everyone for taking the time to respond and helping out!!! Scott...

If it is not v-drive issue you may want to check the connection to your high pressure fuel pump. It is in the port side bottom of the engine. I have the same boat and just had a similar issue after killing a sweet power turn and the boat wouldn't go above 11mph and 2100 rpm. Good luck

Ok I will check the high pressure fuel pump as well. Thanks!!
