Fuel question

I just replaced the impeller, engine oil, and fuel filter/water separator. The boat ran fine to warm it up, but it was hard to start. After the change, i cannot get the motor to start. It just cranks and cranks. I pulled the new fuel filter/water separator and there is no fuel in there. Im assuming this means no fuel is getting pumped in. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site! What kind of boat and engine are you working with?
It does take a little time to prime the new fuel filter after changing it.
