    Engaging Accuset '06 21i

Just bought the boat, no idea how to operate the accuset. Been calling around, no help.

I found a manual for the '07, mentions a "cruise control" switch on the instrument panel, I don't have it. Just a mechanical touchpad control panel with "accuset", an up arrow, a middle button, and a down arrow.

    Anyone?

    Thanks

There should be a rocker switch on the dash that says "Cruise". I am not sure if they changed anything from 06-07 on the engagement though. That being said, your touch panel could be dead and would high recommend you check out this thread as there is an owner here that is making aftermarket panels.

On my boat the switch is far right next to the tower lights switch (if applicable)

Wow, is that elastomer in sorry shape. It probably still works just fine, though. Might not be true for the board underneath...!

^^^ Noticed that too, IDB can you confirm if the 07 has a cruise rocker switch? Pretty sure they used them all the way up till TT1

Yeah, like I said, the 07 manual mentioned the rocker switch, but mine is an 06.

The control panel looks rough, but the buttons below seem crisp when I press them.

The far right switch says "acc" so that could be it, but I see no annunciation on the digital readout on the Commander speedo indicating engagement, or set speed etc. The manual for the speedo references PP mode, but nothing on Accuset. BTW, very impressed with the quick help!

I don't have an 07 in front of me so cannot confirm a rocker switch. However, it's hard to imagine NOT having some sort of an on/off switch... that panel is meant to handle speed inc/set/dec, not enable/disable the whole system.

06 had no digital read out like introduced in 07. There will be a master on/off rocker to power it up.

My 06 far right rocker marked cruise enables it. Then press the set button and it should start flashing. Then go solid when in control. Up and down does what it says [emoji14] entirely likely it's broken thought. The construction of these is different to the speed set in the other thread. You will see some posts of how I fixed my accu set though.

Far right rocker does indeed seem to fire it up. I need to do it at night, no lights visible in the daylight. Getting an occasional idle engagement, see in other threads that that could be a voltage input difference, so I need to look into that too. Just got the speedo paddlewheel and gas gauge sensor done, hope to get to this soon.
