True story. My wife was doing some forensic business analysis for an investment bank to help them determine if the companies they had invested in and ended up owning were financially viable. We have had the same problem, since new, Still doing it. I have had any luck with getting a fix yet. Even after being fully serviced 3 times.
My guess is that it is either the throttle sensor or the ECM.

I've been a little reluctant to really push the issue with Tige or Mercrusier because the boat runs really well (except for the intermittent hesitation). But, I'm coming up on 300 hours so I need to get the impeller changed so when I take it to the dealer I'm going to have them look at the hestitation problem. I'll let you know if they find anything.

I have a DMM but like you said it does not graph the output over time. Any recommendations on where I can get a graphing meter and how much they cost?

Also, do you have a pin out on where to the connect wires to measure the voltage across the TPS?

One last question, if the TPS is bad, how expensive is it to replace?

Are you sitting down, $2300.00 new from SNAP-ON. You could check EBAY
Graphing Meter

You can check the TPS resistance and voltage output w/ your DMM, It's just harder to find an intermittant problem.

Does your meter have a MIN/MAX function? this will record hi's and lows that you may not see on the display.

Sorry. I don't have the wire color/pin-out, I could only guess on that one.

I had not thought about the MIN/MAX, I'll have to check. Radio Shack sells a digital multi-meter that has a PC interface. I think it has the ability to capture measurements over time and store the information on the PC. The meter is only $70 and I already have a laptop so this might be my best option.

I have the engine manual so hopefully I can find the pin out.
