    2013 Z3 TAPS not responding

    PLEASE HELP!!!

We just bought our boat put it in the water and everything is perfect except we can't get the TAPS to work. We push the switch and nothing not even a noise when we move it up or down. What can we check or do, really don't want to put it in the shop for a month or more since we are right in the middle of summer!

Yes TAPS, like I said we just got it and still learning what everything is called, we looked at many boats and fell in love with Tige Z3, just really wanted to surf and our wave is very dirty and the dealer we bought it from is not familiar with Tige and hasn't been any help.

Hmmm. Lots of more techie guys on the forum than me. Do you have the auto TAPS on? Pressing the taps number on the Tige Touch screen will make it change colors. I beleive if it is set to auto taps it will return to 1, which may be part of your problem. Not sure if the taps plate will move if you are at a stand still and change the setting on the throttle

Hope you get it sorted quick!

The taps is ran by a Bennett hyrdraulic system. The sytem is located behind the right rear locker, where the battery is located on the opposite side. There are you tube videos on youtube to trouble shoot a bennett trim tab system. I would check the power connection, wires etc. I'd bet it is something minor. It is a pretty easy system to fix yourself if you have to.

one other thing, you can calibrate taps on the touch screen in settings. Everytime I disconnect my battery, I have to recalibrate the taps. Most likely the hpu hydraulic motor isn't getting power from the battery.

Side point to your problem - the Taps will clean up the wave very nicely, but normally you can get a fairly clean wave with the Taps even all the way up. If you are new to the Z3, you might play around with the list and weight combination until you get the Taps issue fixed.

We are very new to the Z3 and learning by trial and error, so with that being said what do you suggest we start with until we get our Taps fixed?

Another suggestion someone told us is to check the fuse since we added a huge new Wet Sound system to it, found the fuse box under the dash, but did not know which one to check?

I want to make sure we are all talking about the same thing.

                    Taps2- center plate ?

                    Taps3 - outer surf plates?

Also, are you trying this outside the water or in the water?

Should be TAPS2 as the Z3 in question is a 2013 model year.

Yes TAPS 2 and we are trying it both in and out of the water and nothing happens it's just stays on 1

If the plate itself is at 1, I would really think you could clean it up.

Ragboy on this forum is the master for the Z3 - you might give him a PM. Personally, I would go 100% both front and surfside and see what it looks like. You can add offside weight until it starts to get dirty.

Post any stats you currently have and I'm sure someone can get you on track. Post some pics of that bad boy too!

I purchased a 2011 RZ4 about a month ago and I'm running into the same issues. I have done the troubleshooting on the TAPS 2 and there is no power making it to the pump. I have checked all the fuses under the cockpit and they are good. Is there an in-line fuse that I missed, if so, where? Also, while I was troubleshooting, I think I fried the solenoid valve. Does anyone know where the relay is located on the RZ4's and is there a cheap reliable place to purchase parts for the Bennett systems? Thanks!
