    Recommendations for sea strainer

So with all the rain in Texas, there is a lot of debris in the water. On Sunday I had to limb back to the ramp because the pickup and trans cooler were almost completely clogged. Luckily the engine was still getting water but could not go much past idle.

Does anyone have a recommendation on what to get?

I've been on the Texas rivers for nearly ten years, and this is what I have used.

Sherwood raw water strainer 1.25" connection

Use it in line with a Perko flush valve. No issues to date.

Here is my thread on the indmar. I would also do a search on this forum for the diy versions. Some guys have made some nice systems
New sea strainer/flush kit from Indmar

          Thanks for the recommendations.

@Captainkurk72 - I have read through your thread with the Indmar strainer a while back. Where you able to change the orientation to allow for easier cleanup?

I would not imagine there would be a problem if I moved the hoses around. The pickup is on the starboard underneath the exhaust manifold and the trans cooler is on the port under the other manifold. May move it up from near the ski pole.
