How to check engine codes / reset them.

My maintenance / red warning light turned on this weekend,
anyone know how how to check what error it gives, without having to take it to the dealer ? (what device to buy that reads codes on boats )

My dealer is 2.5 hours away, and dont feel like doing this trip every year.

yep, you need a Diacom. If you call around to other dealers(of other boats) they may be able to pull the codes for you without going to the Tige dealer, as long as they have the correct adapter.

Your most likely not going to want to purchase Diacom. just to scan your engine for it is costly and also even if you did , its not like it will tell you what is wrong, but gives you a code to an area of something that acted up and then you have to go through the diagnostic procedures to find out what has to be done to correct this problem, if you still have a nautique dealer he has that capability and if he tells you he cant do, it then that would mean he couldn't fix any of his nautiques either, for the PCM engines are the same in every brand that uses them.
