8400 is not a bad price. that boat is a direct drive and not a v drive. still a good price. if you are looking to weight for wakeboarding it put 250's to 400s on each side of the motor and back as far as you can. then put at least a 400 in the front walkway. this will result in a real nice wakeboarding wake play with taps to your taste mine was always best around 5ish. BUT CAUTION - when the rider falls you have to ease out of the throttle or you will dunk the nose of the boat. That mercury motor is great and easy to do the basic maintenance on if you are partially mechanically inclined. DO you have perfect pass on it? if not look into it. Cause It is the marriage saver for a reason. also good for idiot friends who drive your boat to and insures you get a good pull when it is your turn.

Great lookin boat for a good price. Perfect pass is a must...stargazer version. Depth gauge is a must if you don't have one...get the one that epoxies in the bilge and shoots through the hull. If you have a bunch of kids and want to teach them and their friends, get a barefoot boom....way better than dragging them behind the boat all day and them not getting up. Don't beach it....ever. Get a box anchor and anchor buddy bungee anchor line for the back and a sand spike for the front. Get some 303 protectant and use it on the vinyl and fiberglass each time you go out. Don't leave the plug in when its out of the water. Try and store it indoors. Never store outside without a cover...ever. If forced to store outside, use your regular cover and then get a large over the tower cover (they make them for t-top fishing boats) that covers everything. If you are close to electricity in storage, put a fan in that blows int the bilge for a half hour a day. If the kids insist on tubing, only do it after they have done at least 2 other real water sports. Try to put at least 100 hours pear year on it.

CONGRATS!!! As TeamAllen stated "LONG LIVE THE DD" I am a previous owner of a DD with the same motor and basically same boat (But wasn't a Tige) I loved my DD and hated to get rid of it, but was always nice to have a DD in the group as there is always bound to be a slalom skier that wants a few passes behind a comp ski boat. Looks like everyone hit the majority of the stuff to outfit your boat, as well as how to keep it looking good for another decade. From my experience, you can do everything behind a DD that a V-Drive will do its just takes a little more playing around.
Wakeboarding-I ran 2-400's on both sides of the motor bay and another 400-600 in the bow speed was right at 22-23 mph but......was never able to clean it up at 65 feet usually 50-55 feet is where it was the best.
Surfing-1100 in the rear surf corner, 800 in the bow 13-15 mph with a prop change to Acme 911. It was surfable/wireless with smaller people, and a great wave to teach people on as it was never a very aggressive wave but was fun to surf and ride around on.
My guess is your using your boat on Naci, I test drove my current boat there super shallow when I was there in June a depth finder will be an invaluable piece of mind and the install took me about 2 hours. I used the Hawkeye and never had an issue.
Good Luck and officially welcome to the site, let us know if you need anything! My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
