I just bought a 2006 22V and the alarm and red light on the dash comes on a little while after reaching cruising speed. After shutting off engine and restarting, the alarm is off. The temperature gauge does not read above 175 and the engine oil and transmission fluid are at the proper levels. Thanks for any ideas.

This was the first time I had it on the water after the previous owner had it winterized and remember the oil pressure gauge reading normal range. Is there a way to get the actual temperature of the transmission and v-drive or are you asking generally? Yes, does it every time we hit cruising speed over about 20 mph. I probably need to take it out again and get some specifics on the oil pressure, rpm, and temperature when this happens.

I had a similar issue with a MP 5.7L vortec. Every time I got the rps up around 4500 I'd get the alarm, temps were all fine. I didn't get the tranny indicator light though. Anyway, for what's it's worth I put a new knocksensor on the starboard side of the motor and my problems vanished."Charlie don't surf"
