    VDrive light

Been doing some reading on here, and I know the light on the dash is the vdrive pressure light, was running on the hose today, light was on, I revved the motor a bit and stayed on up to 2000 RPM (in nuetral). Does it have to be in gear to make pressure and turn the light off?. I just changed the fluids in the vdrive and transmission. 30w non detergent 1 quart and Dex/merc ATF 2 quarts. It's my first time with this boat just scared I messed something up.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

When in neutral, V-drive and trans are not rotating, except the input shaft of the trans, so yes, no pressure to open switch.
