    stalling engine

A year after this problem of stalling engine occured we still have the same problem. Nobody can figure it out. It is very annoying now. The boat is unreliable. Very frustrating, anyone here have an idea of what the problem could be?
After running for a little while, the boat beeps and engine stalls, sometimes it is hard to start it again.

I have the same post on the same issue.

I have the Marine Power 6.0 liter 380hp in my 24V.

One temporary solution is to either shut the boat off when idle for more than a couple minutes, or kick it into neutral and idle the motor at 900-1200 RPM when idling.

I just got off the phone w/the tech at my dealer, and he said that Marine Power has an updated low pressure fuel pump available that has so far cured the problem in the boats he has worked on. He was on a cell phone, so I didn't get all the details, but I understand that the fuel pump has some sort of heat sink or something built into it that prevents the fuel heating up while idling, causing the boat to either die or stumble when power is added. Starting the boat up after the fuel has heated is a major pain, it took fifteen tries on my boat the last time it happened.

This and the kit that replaces the water pump with one that has an additional fittig in it to pump water directly to the fuel cooler indtead of taking water from the heat exchanger to the fuel cooler, should cure the problem.

If not, my boat will be traded. I'm sure you feel the same way.

So what is the top secret fix?

If it works well, can others on this board not benefit from it as well?
I'm sorry if I sound a bit skeptical, but I guess I just have to much life experiences not to be.

As explained above, the fuel pump is supposedly the fix from Marine Power themselves.

You asked on the other thread if I have a heater, and the answer is yes, the boat has a heater. As for temperature when stalling, I know it was around 20 degrees warmer than normal operating temp, but I can't remember what temp that was offhand.
It definitely was not abnormally hot by any means.

If you still have a reason not to reply on this thread, send me an e-mail if you please. I live 10 hours away from my dealer (or anything else for that matter!! ) so I unless it is a major issue, I handle all of the work myself.

          EXTENDED IDLING

Your problem problably stems from the fact that the coil on your low pressure pump is not making sufficient contact with the pump and therefore is not removing enough heat from the fuel after extended idling. Marine Power can correct this by suppling a new low presure pump with a better seated coil.
