    Shaft seal replacement

Anyone run the water line to a cool-water source? Mine is currently coming from a hot-water source which OJ says is a no-no as it will expand/deform the seal housing....

I'm on my phone so sorry for the brief reply, but yes... I ran mine to a cold water hose on the exhaust system per PCM instructions. I posted a thread with photos, do a search.

I need to check mine out but it was installed by a professional so I am assuming they did it to specs... Good info... didn't think about the water being hot/cold fed as it seems commonsense would dictate you use the cold water source as you are trying to "cool" the shaft...

Technically, the purpose is for lubrication. But XPS has documented that hot water can deform the collar housing potentially causing the collar itself to leak (vs the seals).
