    Screeching sound

2004 22v. Today we had a loud squealing/screeching sound between 900 and 1400 rpms. I put the boat in neutral and revved up engine and still happened. If we idled and eased up to speed it would not do it. Temp was fine, oil pressure fine. Any suggestions.

I get that when wet people are in and out the back of the boat because water gets down on top of my idler pulley which is directly below the seam between the boat and engine cover cushion. Could be your problem.....or a pulley bushing.

mine started this, this season. I went as far as replacing the entire waterpump pulley and all. All to find out my belt was just squeaky, boat wakes referred me to a belt dressing. I haven't put it on yet, but I would try that first as its $2 a can vs. much more expensive pulleys/bearings and so on.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

my first guess would be the belt check it and i second the belt dressing for sure that will fix it alot of the time. but make sure your belt isnt warn and dry cracked also
