seems like the transmission or prop is sliping HELP!!

ok my boat has something going on with it. its a 2000 tige 22i with 300hrs. the boat pulls hard with no issues but while running on or off plane it will slip when I turn hard. it don't do it everytime but it does it enough to be worried. it does not do it while running surf speed but it will do it while turning at wakeboarding speed 20-22mph. its almost like the prop is blowing out/slipping.

Prop is aerating, turbulent water from the turn flowing into the propeller path. You'll also find it happens usually only in one direction, turning to starboard, because of weight and prop rotation.

Here's an older link and sounds similar to what you explain is happening with your boat:

Not sure if aerating as boatwakes said, is the same as cavitation but seems similar.

Yup, aeration and cavitation are the same.

Yep, same problem with my boat last year. Scared the crap out of me thought I fried the clutch plates. Running the acme 911, haven't heard a peep out of the transmission/cavitation since. BoatWakes as always, is spot on, its cavitation and usually only turning to the right will it happen, turn hard and fast as you want to the left and its good to go, but a quarter turn to the right with any decent amount of power input and it will have cavitation. I called velvet drive too, before I knew what was going on and they said the same thing.

Thanks guys. I'm going to see what I can do with weight distribution next time I'm out to see if I can make it stop

Just Re-Prop the boat, mine would do it at random regardless of weight. Some days I could put surf weight in it and no issues. Other times I couldn't even get the boat to plane out before it starting slipping.
