    Hard turning 24V

I have an '05 24V that seems to be getting harder to turn. The boat ha about 70 hours on it, and maybe my imagination, but i now have to put some real effort into turning the boat, especially at slow or idle speeds. I heard a rumor that there was a bad batch of steering cables installed into some boats. Any truth to that? Maybe a question for Andrew? Anyway, any suggestions?????

You should be able to turn the wheel with one finger when out of the water. Might be time to replace the cable.

Today I sqweezed my way between the rear of the engine, and the transom, looking for a grease fitting on that end. I found a fitting where the rudder attaches to the steering cable on the shaft. I greased it up hoping for an easy fix, but no luck. I think I will be calling for a new steering cable. Hard to believe it has gone bad after only 68 hours. Good luck with yours !
