Yeah, I saw it on the other side and hooked up to that... couldn't get it started. Going to test the fuel pumps now and see if that is it. It sure sounds like it's just not getting gas, I'm leaning towards it being a fuel pump issue but to someone's point... you'd think that would show itself when I was at full throttle and such and that's when it ran perfect. It's low idle when the issues arise. So confused there.

Need you to check spark too. Grab an inline spark checker tool from the auto parts store for about $4 and check spark going to the distributor from the coil and if it's there then check a single plug and report back.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

Okay, will try that too. Thanks! Threw my back out and wasn't able to dig around more, so hoping this weekend I can get to it.

I guess I have a herniated disc so didn't see myself being able to work on this boat and ended up breaking down and taking it in. The good news is it turns out to be a bad connection to the ECM, that wire or what not was replaced and it fired right up. The wire to the starter was looking in rough shape so they replaced that line too... only cost the one hour of labor - $109. That's really fair I think. He says it starts up fine, everything is good to go and I can pick it up after they wash it in about an hour.

Thanks for your help guys... now I guess it still sits until I get an epidural in my back and hope that fixes me. Thanks again, even though I didn't fix it myself this time... I learned a ton about my boat just digging around and reading this thread (and others).

In am having the exact same problem with my boat 2004 24VE. Do you have a picture of the bad connection or can you give me an idea of where it is at ?? It would only do it when letting off the throttle when picking up a rider or going from higher RPMs to an idle speed. It stalled a few times over a couple of days then it would not start at all.

I'm going to the storage unit to get it this weekend, so will snap a photo then.
