    Throttle Hang??? HELP

We have a 2006 Tige 20V that we have been having some issues with. We will be surfing/boarding and all the sudden the boat either dothrottles, and it wont change even though we move it to fulll throttle. Or something when we go to pull the boarder of the water, it seems to stick at this speed, leaving the boader struggling to get up/ hold on. The dealer said they had fixed it, but it just happened this time out at the lake!!!! Any ideas?

do you have perfect pass cruise control? sounds to me like it is turned on and set at a speed. so when you give more throttle, it is not going to go any faster.

Even when the cruise is turned off it does the same thing.

what engine do you have, i have the 5.7/340 MP. does the warning buzzer sound when it happens? my 06 22ve is doing something similar. i have to shut off engine to regain throttle control and shut off buzzer. all gauges are normal!

Same motor, doesnt beep at all. Sounds familiar having to shut it off though. Sometimes, on the other hand, it just gets going again and darn near tears the skiiers arms off when it skidaddles if its at full throttle when it figures itself out. Its rather dangerous IMO

He called Tige, they say the computer is sensing a fault and setting a code. I would have to drop it off for them to pull the code. It's a 45 min trip one way and it may take 2 weeks to get to. so far, i'm just keeping me fingers crossed that i don't get stuck out.

                    Tige20v,

tried to got out yesterday and boat was acting up right off the trailer. called dealer and talked to a tech. he said it sounded like a bad signal from either the temp or oil pressure sender to the computer, becouse thats the only thing that will cause the 'sounder' to go off. he said if i could bring it right up the might be able to look at it before the close.

after talking to the tech face to face, he asked if it seemd to do it when the accu-set was on? i dold hip that i didn't think the cruise worked, so i leave the switch off. we put on the 'fake-a-lake' and ran the engine with the accu-set unplugged. boat did not act up thare so we toke it around the cornar to a boat landing and took it for a good test drive, still no problems. oh, he did confirm that the accu-set is inop.

drove back to our 'home lake' (hour & 20 min. drive and 6:00 by now) put her back in and rode around till 9:30 with no problems.

12 HRS SINCE LAST POST, BOAT HAS RUN GREAT. TALKED TO MY DEALER, HE TOLD ME THAT A RECALL HAS COME OUT FOR A 'REWIRE' ON THE ACUE-SET THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM AND GET ME MY CRUISE BACK.

My 06 w0i with the MP 340 is has the same problem.

When I am pulling someone with perfect pass engaged all goes well until I adjust the TAPS. Then sometimes I get the beep and the boat drops to an idle. Not every time I adjust the TAPS though.

It hasn't happened without pp engaged.

My dealer is going to call Tige to see if they have any idea and I will let you all know.

Does anyone else have any ideas???

MINE WOULD ALSO DO IT WHEN I HIT THE TAPS. MY ACCU-SET NEVER WORKED FROM DAY ONE BUT THE PROBLEM WOULD SURFACE EVAN WITH THE ACCU-SET SWITCH OFF.

Has anyone had this problem who doesn't have Accu-set or perfect pass?

It sounds like there is some kind of interference or a wierd electircal signal happening between TAPS, cruise control, and the engine.

These are the worst kind of problem since it doesn't happen to every boat or every time.

                            Any ideas?

                              Inoperable throttle

The throttle by wire is a dual redundancy system. Any momentary interuption in power or ground will cause a fault code. If this happens the engine will idle but there will be no throttle response. If the power or ground interruption is only momentary, you can reset the code by turning the ignition off and then restarting the engine and the throttle should work fine. Look for a loose power or ground connection under the dash. Pay particular atttention to the main connection to the ground strip under the dash, the nut on the large ground cable ring may be loose. Also if there is a bare spot on the taps wires running through the throttle handle and it momentarily touchs metal(ground) that will set a code and render the throttle inoperable until the engine is restarted. Your dealer should be familiar with these items and they are easy to remedy.
