    TAPS2 broken

    Hey guys,
I picked up a 2003 22V with a 350 black scorpion motor and TAPS2 last Friday. It had been setting up for over a year and I made an as is purchase on the boat. So far, I've replaced the tranny & vdrive fluids, steering cable, fuel filters, and spark plugs all with your help!! This fixed the steering issues and dying at 3200 RPMs! This site is awesome!

After getting the dying issues worked out the boat is porpoising at around 35 mph. Adjusting TAPS from 8 to 1 had no effect. We took it out of the water and noticed the TAPS plate wasnt moving at all. The gauge works and I can hear a sound like a small drill when pushing the TAPS button in both directions, but no movement from the plate. So we tried to help it move while hitting the button and the chrome cylinder came out of the sleeve and what looks like a bolt sheered off in the cylinder.

I have attached the pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

Is there a way to fix this? Like drill the bolt out and replace in the top cylinder, or will I have to buy a whole new part?

Sorry, I'm new to this so any advice would help!

    Thanks in advanced!
