    Marine Power Alternator

Does anyone have a part # and source for an alternator for 05 Marine Power 5.7 340hp?

    #2
Is yours completed failed or just poorly charging?

Not certain. I get 12.58 volts on battery 1 and 13.8 volts on battery 2 at about 1700 rpm. I am using the battery switch to isolate the voltage while engine is running at each battery. Can't understand why I get such different voltage. Battery 2 is charged 100% and battery 1 is at about 90% charge. I am assuming that I should never get less than 12.8 volts no matter what if the alternator/regulator is good and need to replace.

Look for a box that has three terminals B1, B2, A or Alt , this would be an isolator it distributes the voltage based on load demend from battery to battery , 05 is about when they started with that system, so I cant guarranty it will have it , if it does you can check the power in and out of the box.

If you can measure 13.8 on one of the batteries, and then 12.58 on the 2nd, and the only thing that changed was rotating the switch, the alternator is not the problem. What the is static (at rest) voltage of the 100% battery and the 90% battery?

You have a: bad battery, very heavy load on that battery, poor connection or failing cable, voltage drop across the switch.

Voltage is 12.6 battery 1 and 12.72 battery 2 at rest.

^^^ for a battery with some use under its belt, those are not bad. I would be doing a voltage drop on the cables and switch as well as inspecting the condition of the cable lugs.

I looked a little closer at my voltage testing and found out that I had the battery selector on the battery that I was not testing. When verifying which battery was connected to the #1 and #2 poles I followed the wires but in the place that I can't see the cables twisted and reversed. All is working fine and I am glad I did not start tearing apart the alternator for no reason. Good lesson in making sure that you rule out the simple stuff first! I am happy but feel pretty stupid. Thanks for the help!

Loving the boat. No major problems at all and she runs like a top. We are out surfing on it nearly every day (in our short summer) and it is awesome to have the room to invite other families with kids and not be crowded. I think I blew one of the in-boat speakers somehow. The tweeter is working but no sound out of the woofer. Will troubleshoot at some point but not a big deal. Thanks again for selling us your awesome boat! How is your new Z?

We love the Z! We loved the 24V as well so I think what I am saying is I just love being on the water with my family and friends. The video you sent me last year was awsome. I am glad the boat is treating you well.
