2008 Tige 24ve Taps struck by lightning

    Hi everyone,

I've done a bit of searching around the forums and have not came up with a good solution as to how to fix my taps.

A few weeks ago my boat got struck by lightning, crazy I know. After the lightning strike my head unit, speedometer, and my taps got fried. Everything got fixed by a local dealership, except the Taps. Currently the TAPS is stuck on 1 and the plate wont move at all. When I hit the taps switch the only thing that happens is a loud click comes through my speakers.

    My boat is a 2008 Tige 24ve

Any advice/help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

There is a special relay that most like/y got fried. I don't know about your year boat, but my TAPS relay is clear plastic. Mine fried but I just left it and 1 since its the best wake with the weight we use.

You will need a new brain. Mine did the same.

So I found out the plate sounds like it wants to move down. It just won't move up, you thinking it still needs a whole new module?

Sounds like it needs a relay module. I think you can order one directly from bennet trim tabs but I can't be 100% sure on that.

Just to post an update for everyone:

I went out on tuesday and hot wired the pump for the taps, I was able to fully adjust it manually so I planted it in surf mode so that we could at least ride.

Upon reconnecting everything, the gauge works and moving the plate down works. I just cannot move it up.

I'm going to call bennett today and see what they suggest. I'll keep you updated.

Here is a pic from tuesday, sorry that it's more truck than boat.
