after 12 yrs in saltwater, time to replace the manifolds on the 2001 21v, does anyone know of a good source for replacements that are not junk and not too expensive?
I just bought these and they work great. I have the same boat and same scenario. My boat is ran 98% in salt and I had one manifold riser clog up. Used these and the boat actually has more power now. or at least it feels like it does. GLM has channels molded in to direct each cylinders exhaust toward the riser separately. My kit was missing a few parts like 1 exhaust plug and and drain fitting but I just used my old ones.
Ask your mechanic what manifolds he would use/uses and it wouldn't be GLM. I'm sure everyone has their reason for using what they're using but take a look at how long the original set lasted and then wonder why they weren't made in China. Even though they're cheaper, it's not by much and they definitely won't last as long. My suggestion would be either use OEM, sierra brand OEM replacements with a warranty or a company called Stainless Marine.
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...
