My wife complains that the throttle is too stiff for her and she has a hard time engaging the fwd/n//rev options on our new Z1. I personally don't mind but any advice on if this can be remedied? My dealer tells me it's just because its new.

Throttle really stiff on new Z1

The throttle on our new r20 is a bit sticky and cumbersome as well. Like it takes a few double takes to see if you are still in idle or neutral?. I was slightly disappointed as I have controlled much smoother throttles. Our dealer also assured us it will smooth out over time.
Also, do you notice yours having a second or two of lag when engaging reverse?

On that note, I have a little story about the sticky throttle. At the end of our maiden voyage I had my wife attempt to load it on the trailer as I backed in. Welp, not the best idea as it was an unfamiliar launch and a bit shallow. When she came in crooked, I signaled to back up and because of the sticky/stiff throttle she inadvertently SLAMMED it in reverse. A half second later I hear sand and rocks being sucked up from the bottom directly into the prop .
The prop was fixable, but my wife's ego will take some time to adjust as she is now scared to drive/park/load the boat.
Don't mean to hijack the thread but it's related to your problem!

Thats exactly my problem, she now refuses to put the boat on the trailer, with our centurion I would back in and she would load the boat. Now I'm doing both, another point of contention is Idle when I'm surfing or wake boarding, she's not sure if she's Idling or in Neutral, I havent yelled yet but I fear it's only a matter of time.

Same issue with our RZR. I sure miss my regular cabled throttle!! The throttle by wire is jerky till you get used to it. Also hard to hold speed, if just cruising around. Makes you have to use the speed control all the time. Mine does seem to be getting better at 20 hours, though. Wife did just like supreme's leaving the dock the other night. Luckily it was deeper so no prop damage, but she hit reverse HARD!!
