What size amp and sub are you running to need a cap? Just wondering. I know when I had my small block in my 280zx I had 2 12 comps and never used a cap and it was fine. I was even using the small stock 280z alt and it handled fine. I can't imagine with the bigger alt of the merc I would need a cap(capacitor) doesn anyone out there also use them? Plus with no lights to speak of on a boat, I would figure there isn't much electircal draw from the boat, so the alternator would be able to keep up. Someone chime in here
