my boat turns very easily. When I let go of the steering wheel it does turn hard right. Every inboard I have been in is this way.

It's definitely differant than an I/O. Mine is smooth as silk one way and needs a little muscle the other. I guess this is in part due to no power steering and in one direction you push the rudder, the other you are pulling the rudder. and prop rotation.

If your steering wheel is hard to turn you probably need to change your steering cables. This is a fairly easy repair, you can do it yourslef. Heres a link to a thread about it....

Over time if it gets harder to turn, its definately the cables. I had the same problem on my boat.Common Sense is not so Common
