    HELP!! Engine trouble.

In the middle of replacing my impeller when I started to check all the pulleys, the alternator pully is frozone and will not move, should it move freely? Thoughts??

The alternator pulley should move freely when the belt is not in place, if it doesnt or it grinds, replace with new unit. The circ pump, idler pulleys and tensioner pulleys too. What boat and engine? Raw water pump will turn very difficult, overcoming the impeller, and the crank pulley not at all (by hand).

thanks, autozone could actually order the part I needed, it is the marine version, thanks for the help,

side note, it the alternator is removed should you still be able to have power to the stereo or does the altenator need to be conected to close the circut??

Youll have stereo power, the alternator is connected directly to the battery via the starter positive wire so just make sure the wire coming off the back of the alternator is not touching the engine or ZAP! you become a welder. Auto zone has been carrying the Sierra model which is a perfectly acceptable marine model.
