Winter Projects......

Alright, so its winter and now its time to start getting parts for projects. Looking for some help from you guys. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan so I cant look at the boat. I am searching for part numbers for the TAPS actuators(Hydraulic/Bennett I think). I bought the boat this boat this past summer and the previous owner put screws trough the actuators to keep it from moving because it stopped working. I'm not sure where the problem resides but I know the actuators need to be replaced to start with. I also need to get a part number for the PSS dripless shaft seal. I currently have one on my boat but the carbon ring is cracked and is anything but dripless. I know the shaft is 1-1/8" but unsure of what the stern tube size is. Anyways, I would appreciate any help. I would like to go ahead and get the parts together so when I get home in March I can get her back on the water.

For the TAPS actuator email Tige customer service (customerservice@tige.com) and give them the year and model of the boat. I just did this and they replied the next day. Then call Bennet (954)427-1400.
When I called Bennet they said it was a custom part and it would take about 3 days to build...I received the actuator 2 days later!
Great customer service from both companies.

Sounds good. Thank you for your response. I will at least get the part# from Tige via email to get started. I will probably have my wife call Bennett. Just easier that way.

I DONT KNOW WHAT MOTOR YOU HAVE BUT THERES A NEW TAPS MOTOR IN OUR SAN LUIS OBISPO CRAIGSLIST.ITS WAS LISTED DEC.15TH UNDER BOATS.HOPEFULLY ITS THE ONE YOU NEED.

i'm not sure if I need the Motor yet. I know I need new actuators and see where that gets me.

If the actuators dont get it check the relay and the TAPs switch both are pretty common issues. Along with the wire going from the relay to the switch.
