    Engone won't start HELP!

I have a 03 Merc 350 MAG MPI. Of the last several weeks I have had a cold start issue. It take about 15 to 20 minutes to start the engine. Once I get it started and warmed up it is fine the rest of the day. Even after sitting for a while. Mechanic suggested Plugs since mine were old so I rplaced. Then the Boost Pump.(Fule)

Today I was having the same starting issue. I noticed my Starter was smoking. You could here the cylinoid burning on the inside. I replaced the starter and went to start the boat. The engine never turned over I just lost all power to the dash. I still have 12.5 volts to the started and the auto bilge still works. I checked the breaker on the engine. not sure what to look at. Anyone have any clues?

If you fried the starter the battery could be low. May still show 12 volts but be very weak. Also since you changed it out look for wires you did not connect back up. You could jump the starter over from the main hot wire to the selinoid wire and see if it cranks. If it does then the problem is not the battery or starter. Look at your breakers and starter relay.

It was the 90 amp fuse that is on the wires from the Altrenator and Breaker that connect to the starter. It was blown.
