    Fiberglass/Gelcoat Repair?

I am new to the Tigeowners. Bought my first boat this summer. It is a 2000 21i. There is some damage to the bottom side of the boat. I was wondering what my options are. The guy i bought the boat from said the damage has been there for many years, but he didn't use the boat very often.

Also i have some gel coat cracks around a couple of my mooring horns. Is there some way to keep this from spreading.

And some chips above my prop.

    Thanks for any help.

Any gel-coat repair shop can fix those and make it look good. You can do it your self with some Marine-Tex.

For the cleat.....its loose, thats probably the main cause. probably from heavy use. I would pull it, bevel the edges of all the holes. if they are wallered out, you can fill them with some epoxy and re-drill. I would also look at using a larger backing plate. Those spider cracks can also be fixed.

do you want to fix yourself of have fixed? like chpthril says many shops can fix it.. but given its a 2000 and probably all are white or most I would try myself. might needs a bit of build up on a few of those that are deep and then fill with EVERCOAT Polyester Gel-Paste and just color match it best you can. but white is by far the easiest to do.

Yep just thought i'd share the outcome. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up using Formula 27 (Its similar to bondo)took 3 layers to get it smooth. When you run your hand across it you can't tell the difference. Took a total of about 2 1/2 hours. I also did a couple other dings in the hall back by the prop.

              Looks great!

I have a few of those to do myself..

Of more concern though is the port bracket for the swim platform. Seems like I may need to get in there and replace some structure in the transom. I was thinking of grinding out the area to remove what I'm guessing is 'punky' wood, the maybe inject and build up with epoxy, then gelcoat?

              Suggestions?
