Can throttle response be adjusted with throttle by wire?

My Rz2 with the 343, seems to be a dog.....it doesn't seem to have the connected feeling...ie when you throw it down, it seems to react like hammering a Prius vs my 2500 diesel. I have toyed with trying a new prop.

I guess I compare to my Malibu which you could feel it accelerate when you put the hammer down.....

The reaction time of the throttle motor is measured in milliseconds, but will only open the throttle to the point that is commanded by the TPS on the throttle lever. There really is not any kind of adjustment there that will increase the HP or torque. The TPS is just a set and forget adjustment. its either in limits or out of limits. This would need to be view on a scan tool.

At what elevation is your lake? Whats your usual ballast setup and crew size? What props have you tried?

700 Ft above sea level....me, Mom and 3 kids under 13. No ballast...just hitting it to go is where I notice it. I talked about diff props...but I dont want to spend money on 4 props to find one that works. I have the stock 537 now....

I have to compare to my malibu, which had a ton more throttle response. While inder way at say 25, I could hit it and it would accelerate pretty hard by the seat of your pants feel...I want that in this boat....

What taps setting are you hitting it at? Taps too high and your fighting the tendency to plane out so the engine might feel sluggish. Try lowering the taps to one to get a comparable feel to the Bu. If your already there then I'm not sure how to help. What model Bu was it? Was it lighter with a similar size engine? Did it have a bigger engine?

I usually have taps at 1? Should it be higher?

My bu was a vride...21.5 ft with the 320 hp in it....

Nope, taps at 1 should give you the best hole shot. If your cruising and you want to squeak a little more mph you can slowly increase the taps until the bow starts to porpoise, then you lower it just enough to stop the porpoise. And when I mean slowly I mean just quickly press and release the taps trim switch on the throttle, wait a few seconds to see how the boat responds, and adjust it again. I am adjusting mine all the time when I'm driving. The only time I set it and forget it is when I am trying to dial in a wake and I get the settings right, then I don't touch it.

Which Malibu did you have? And engine?
My 20i will out accellerate my RZ2 , 3200lbs versus 4300lbs, as well as hp per pound, 400hp in my 20i to 343hp our RZ2.

I just looked up the specs on the Vride, 3,000 lbs dry weight vs 4,150 dry weight for the RZ2, plus the RZ2 has a bigger gas tank and only a modest bump in power from the 320 to the 343 in the RZ2. I bet the Alpha Z tower weighs a little more than the IllusionX on the Vride too.

Ok so then theoretically it shouldn't have the same prop on it then right? To get the same performance feel, we should adjust prop to accommodate for the extra 1000 lbs?
