    TAPPS RESET?

I'm a new tige owner and i don't really like the fact that when you kill the engine the TAPPS resest goes to wakeboard mode. which putts the plate all the way into the water. I would think that when you start the boat it would reset with the tapp plate out of the water?(waterski mode)

when your not useing the tapps at all and just cruising its stupid that you always have to adjust the tapps out of the water. otherwise its slow plaining off of the hole shot.

-anybody with words of wisedom... is this a factory setting?

    First, welcome to the site.
Ok I hope this answerer your question.
When you turn the power off, the computer does not know where the taps plate is, so it needs the actuator to go to the home (zero) position. Once it has gone to this position, the computer keeps a record of the pulses sent to the motor. As it sends these pulses, it also sends a voltage value to the taps gauge to let you know the position of the taps plate.
On the new boats, there’s is a modification that helps the computer to keep it memory for a few minutes between power cycles. But if the power is off for more than that, the plates needs to zero out.

      Welcome to the forum.

The Tige TAPS (Tige Adjustable Plate System) Plate works much like a pair of trim tabs do as it adjust the attitude of the boat. But with the Tige Convex hull, it actually shapes the wake, and yes, does aid in planing. With the plate down, as in "0" on the gauge 9ski mode), the plate adds to the running surface of the hull and creates stern lift. This brings the nose down and helps planning. With the TAPS plate up as with the gauge showing "8" (wake board mode), the plate is up and is not effected by the water coming off the back edge of the hull. This allows the hull to settle in the water. In this mode, planing out may take longer, especially when weighted.

On the Tige boats around the years of yours, the system was setup to return to wake board mode, or all the way up, when the engine is turned off. If you do some searching, there is a thread or two about how to disable this. Moving forward, the plate will stay where you leave it.

I wish it was more like the Malibu Wakesetter Wedge in that it'll move into position as you plane then speed up. I may be speaking out of my butt on this but I think this is a feature with the newer malibu boats
With the taps at 8 good luck getting on plane with peeps in the rear of the boat! But if they could make some sort of software mod that gradually took it from zero to "your setting" as you plane then approach boarding speed (or whatever is set in speed set) it would save on fuel and time to plane.

On our Z3 it appeared that the taps plate automatically went to "0" when pulling a rider out using the tige you profiles. Once on plane it would adjust to the preset TAPS setting in the profile. Way cool with full ballast and it makes planing happen much quicker.

really? If so is this a software change to the Tige Touch? I guess I have the 2011 software you must have the 2012 I presume?
Wonder if another software update would fix this.
