Hmmmm.... My Malibu owner friend has a 3/4 ton Duramax diesel that he tows his boat with and we have the same kinds of experiences...he constantly beats me to the river with no effort...although he has more tickets than I do... But towing wise, the diesel seems to be the ticket. I'm thinking 3/4 ton suburban with a diesel if they make such a beast these days...

For towing, I don't ever think I'll go back to gas. You can have HP all day long but, at the end of that day, torque rules. And yes, I'm betting your buddies have pedal to spare. I always do. Depending on what transmission they have, they will have brakes at the end of the day too. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I store my boat at a fully enclosed unit at Parker, AZ.
The money I save on gas pays for the unit.

I saw one at the LA boat show that had three rows of seats and 6 doors!! Not only could you tow anything but you can bring everyone as well!!Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein
