Switches not working, first trip out for season

First ride out. Heater, pumps, radio, not sure about bilge, not working. Paid to have boat winterized and dewinterized by same folks but they don't do many inboards and we r probably only Tige. We r not very mechanical, thx!

This may sound funny but check your battery. First time out on our new Ve this year I had the exact same thing happen. Started just fine but nothing else worked. The gauge said I had 14.0 volts. When I got home (very frustrated) I checked the batteries with a digital tester and only had 8.4 volts. Ultimately found out I had a battery switch problem and had drained the cranking battery down in the shop by playing the stereo and was only drawing on the cranking battery. Was never using the house battery.

A dead "House" battery is a good place to start. Also, check the main breaker thats usually mounted to the transom above or behind the batteries, it may be tripped.

Next would be a cable left off one of the batteries.

After that, I would check the 2 main switches under the helm on the breaker box. There are 2 white switches that turn off each half of the breaker BUSS. Both should be up/on.

Thx chp! Batteries! How about 2 cables just not even connected and tucked way up where u couldn't even see em! Hard to get ur money's worth these days it seems! I'm not sure what I paid em for dewinterizing, but sure it was too much lol!! Then after gassing up, my 12 yr old didn't tighten down the gas cap and we lost it! It broke and fell n lake. Then we lost a bumper and went back to get it and ran over the rope and it wrapped around the prop !! I also knocked my sister n laws sunglasses off into the water w the surf rope. And my mother n law lost her car keys so we rode 20 miles with 7 people n an impala! Hmmmm. Better luck next weekend! But my 1300 pound sac brought my rubrail to the water! We had a great wave and fun time while surfing. We wakeboarded some too. Windy like crazy today. 72 degree water ( I toughed it out n my 3 mil)!

Early season shake down, my buddy and I laugh every year first few times out on our boats as it seems dumb mistakes and dumb luck are fond of the springtime. Lots of funny stories, from iPhones thrown in lake to tow ropes hooked onto tower light, loose ground wire on battery, etc.

It is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic. At least you all made it back.

Sounds like you had enough "fun" for all of us. Now we should be able to go out and not have any issues.

              Have fun next weekend

                              2nd trip out

So we get to the lake yesterday (just me and the 2 kids this time - hubby in KC) and..... Totally dead batteries (I will turn the main switch to off from now on) but that would not have helped this time, I don't think. The marina put me on the charger and in 15 mins we were starting. So I leave it running for about an hour and we're good. Met up with my cousin and his X-star and got rounded up some more folks (ran into my first other TO - rmason ) stayed out way too late . Locked thru the dam and got stuck on the low side by a barge who of course gets to lock thru first. So anyway we get back to the dock about 9:30. I store everything, turn the main battery switch to off and see that my running light on top of the tower is still on . The switch under the helm was in the on position, flip it and the light goes off. Why would it stay on if I turned that main red switch above the batteries to off?
