I have a 2010 Z1 and I want to add some additional weight in the rear storage compartments. Problem is Tige has put a little sign that says you should not exceed, I think it was 80lbs in these compartments, yet Tige offers an option that would put a fat sac in the same compartment that weights 350lbs? What is up with this weight restriction? Any ideas as to why they would have this limit? Does anyone know if it is a valid restriction? I do not want to crush something underneath the floor. If it is valid, does anyone know what you need to do to allow for additional weight to be added?

Do we always obay the signs
Its more of a warning to not stand on the false floor with the tank underneath. Adding a large ballast sac disperses the PSI over the entire floor.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The official word from Tige is that the 80 pound limit applies to those boats that have the factory hard tanks under the floor. If your boat lacks those tanks, it will have hard foam blocks under there instead - and those foam blocks do not impose the weight restriction.

I don't know, but I strongly suspect there's only one floor style and the question is how that floor is supported from below. A hardside tank won't support as much weight as a solid foam block.

Just spoke with Harvey at Tige. Ther is no difference in the floor construction between boats coming from the factory with or without the surf sac ontop of the hard tank. He suggested to always fill the hard tank first and that you would not have a problem with srf sacs on top (including the 1100 bags many are using). Hope this helps.
