I spoke with my local Tige dealer this morning and he seems to think it is the touchpad. Sounds like they can get one to me for 500 bucks if I give them the old one. Guess it could have been a lot worse.

For $500, sounds like you got a deal. Cool

Hmmm....I had to give my dealer my old one and it still cost me close to 1500. I will be very interested to see if your dealer only charges 500. Keep us updated

This has come up repeatedly in the past. If you can, PLEASE keep the old touchpad. I would like to see it and determine if these can be repaired. I used to design keyboards and switch panels so I'm really familiar with how these things are constructed. For example, mine feels like it is based on classic "snap dome" switches that sit on top of a PCB and flex down to make contact with a pad under the dome. These assemblies can often be cleaned and brought back to life.

Please, please try to retain the old one. I'll pay shipping to get it here if you do, and I'll report what I find with words and photos for everyone's benefit.

Waiting to hear back from you... thanks!

I will see what I can do. He said Tige gives them 125 bucks for it. They may just be fixing them and re selling them for 500. Moneymaker!!

Sounds like you should send it to WA first and see if he can fix it and then if he can't, order up the new one....
