Speedometer wheel with water temp gauge?

Currently, my stock speedometer is not functioning correctly. I have perfect pass, so I can gauge and set speed without it. But it just bugs me when stuff doesn't work. I'm also always curious about water temp at the lake (not that it stops me from jumping in, but more so for the others on the boat).

So does anyone know if there is a speedometer paddle wheel with a lake temperature gauge out there? I've done a few searches, but haven't come up with much. My Faria gauge does show a speed when underway, it's just the wrong speed. Also, any idea what this replacement might cost me? Or would it be easier to fix the existing speedometer and install a separate lake water temp gauge?

    Thanks.

The paddle wheels and temp sensors will fail time and again. I see it on commercial boats, ski boats and everything else that has one. We installed a GPS fishfinder with a temp sensor on the transducer and it's been working great for 8 years. We get speed, depth and temp all on one display which also interfaces with Faria and Sierra's new GPS dash mounted speedometer. It just depends on how much you want to spend. I have a Humminbird 383c that I purchased with transducer from eBay 8 years ago for $300. About 2 hours of labor and installation (I also do this for a living so it may take longer for others) and voila.

Sure, most high end inboards come stock with them now. My Tige has what is commonly called a "triducer" that combines speedo wheel, temperature, and depth in a single unit.

I think your bigger question will be integrating a different unit into your existing instrumentation and cruise control.
