    heater issue

ok.. so looks like the pcm 409 I have uses the coolant side to go through the heater.. I pulled the return line enough to get it to drip to figure that out.. was on the lake.. but assumed it was done with lake water. so I did not pull it... thinking if i dump to much coolant ext...

so the issue i have is this.. and I can only come up with some sort of blockage? have not been able to pull both sides yet.. but the heater does not get warm --- well most of the time.. I have had it get to normal temp at least 2 times? but the rest just cold air?

any ideas thoughts... ext on this one? first pcm.. so new to this motor/setup?

What's your coolant temp getting to? The heater will only be as hot as the engine temp. I guess it could be a blockage or maybe it has a giant air bubble in it. Are the hoses hot to the touch when the engine is at temp?

this is a bit old.. but I like to follow up on things that I experience with my boats.

so long story short. this winter I was able to really tear into this.. and the heater connection that comes off the back of my motor is either pinched or kinked?

was never able to get this to work right.. I would fill up with gas heater stops working.. run half out.. heater works...

I just pulled a new line and now its working 100% of the time.. but think the old line is under the gas tank or something.. could not pull the line out freely. luckily the front line off the motor was freely moving so I could pull that out and pull back in the new line with it.

the wierdest thing I found when doing this was some just stranded piece of hose coming out of my left rear ballast tank wall.. just kinda left there hanging out of a hole drilled in the fiber glass.. pulled on it a little and came right out.. like a 3ft section of pipe? go figure.

That random hose might have been a drain hose for the cooler, not sure where it's located on a 2011 RZ4 though.
