    Raw Water Flow System

Do you think these would work for any of us? It looked interesting to be able to check if you had sufficient water flow rather than pressure. What do you guys think?

Don’t be confused by water PRESSURE, as many OEM engine manufacturers measure water pressure in different areas of the motor. This number may not be telling you the real story of water FLOW. Your water pressure can be constant from the first day you bought your new boat. The danger may be lurking in the water FLOW which could be caused by a plugged heat exchanger or kinked hose. This may be the culprit causing the good water pressure reading, when in actuality there is poor water flow.

It strange that they keep using the word pressure, as I don’t know of any water pressure transducer on my engine, only thermal transducers (water temp) If the water temp stays down, then you must have good flow. If the temp goes up, then you have a restriction some place.

I think its a great idea to have a leading (as opposed to lagging) indicator on the water system. Loss of flow causes high temps, therefore the quicker you are able to indicate that condition, the sooner you can address it. Temperature is a lagging indicator, and therefore can be a factor in failure.
Would work well with my strainer setup.
