    Nagging problem solved

    I thought I would post a problem I have been having with 1998 2100i 350mag.
When I shut down the motor to switch skiers or shut the motor for more than five minutes, I go to start up it ran rich. If I went to give it gas it would stall. Then it was a hard start with black smoke. I tried trouble shooting the "intermittent"symptoms most of the summer. I went through the fuel systems then electrical. I was pretty much at my wits end. I did notice every time it had this problem the temp guage was below 100 degrees. If I went 10 MPH the temperature would come back and everything was fine again. I searched the internet to find the same symptoms as mine, no luck. This is what I found. I have a shower on this boat and the cold water line has a check valve or anti siphon valve in it. It was not holding. When I shut down the motor the water in the block would back feed into the raw water intake and drain in the lake. This would create havoc with ecm. The sensors read engine cold while the engine was hot.
I thought I would post this to help anyone else with the same problem.
I noticed alot of posts on problems never post their solution.
I hope this helps someone else.
