    Broken 2008 Z1 Tower

Got distracted today when unloading the boat and forgot to go back and stop the boat lift. Crushed/bent/broke the two top tower cross bars on my 2008 Z1. I have taken off the top section which fell apart into three pieces (yes its suppose to be one piece). Any suggestions for finding another top section. Do I have to order it from Tige directly?

First welcome to the site..but sorry it is under such shitty circumstances. Its always best to post a pic so we can make sure we are talking about the same thing. That tower was made in house by Tige so yes you will need to get parts from them. Or maybe a local machine/Fab shop could make them. But I bet you have to end up getting a whole new tower from Tige or go with and aftermarket one.

Here's is a picture. I will get a better one later but I think you can see the damage is beyond repair unless you cut out the section a weld new section in.

Start by calling your insurance agent. I hit the house with my old Metcraft tower and State Farm worked with me great to get me a new Samson. I know it makes you feel foolish, sure did me, but it worked out ok in the end. Why we carry insurance on these things.

Insurance took care it. $2200 for upper tower hoop and $1400 for custom bimini top plus one damaged tower speaker bracket. I had a $1000 deductible. Expensive lesson. Installing limit switch on boat lift.

Where did you get that top section from? Tige?

                  what was the outcome...solution

I drove my truck and boat under a building that was two inches shorter than my tower.
Needless to say.....tower is broke at welds and joints.
                  Mine is a 2003 22V.
                  Did you replace or repair?

Purchased tope section from Ski Dock in Austin, Tx where I orginally bought the boat.
