Helicoil vs time-sert alpha z?
So ive run my samson rack into a boat slip and stripped the connecting bolt from my alpha z. I was originally told helicoil for thread repair but have read time-serts are better. My questions are: are time-serts really stronger and also want to know whether or not the timesert can be inserted due to the fact that the hole is oblique to the tower. (as seen below) In order for the timesert to sit flush with the superior portion of the hole seems like id have to countersink way beyond the inferior portion of the hole. Otherwise the top of the timsert will sick out from the tower. Has anyone done this using timeserts? Im looking to do the repair tomorrow..thanks in advance
