ENG ECU No Data for over 25 seconds

ENG ECU No Data for over 25 seconds
Dead '07 RZ2 last week at Lake Powell. Drove 350 miles to have a dead boat .
I had 3 mechanics look at the boat at Lake Powell and none of them could find anything wrong with the engine I think the the computer just died.

    Has anyone replace the computer?
    Can I do it myself?
What can cause the Computer to just die from one day to the next?

If you have any information to help me I would really appreciated it...Thanks.

I have a marine power engine and I fried my ECU by jumpstarting the boat.
I was told by; marine power that in some cases you can also damage the ECU by charging the batteries with the main power switch on. I now charge my batteries with the power switch OFF and I have a second battery so I do not have to worry about the radio killing it. I also bring a backup ECU in my prop bag, but I have never had another issue since the first time. (Marine power fixed it for free and gave me a gave me a great deal on a back up)

It is very easy to change on my boat

      Whitlock,
Do you have the contact info for marine power where I could order a new ECU?

      Thank you.

Does anyone know what is the warranty on the ECU?

I recently experienced a dead engine and found a bad fuse next to the battery switch. It was 7.5a fuse in a small black fuse holder. New fuse- engine ran great. 2008 22Ve. Good luck.

Not yet, I checked every fuse, every wire and they all look good. The new The local Tige Dealer (4th different dealer in the last 3 years) is 2 weeks out to be able to look at my boat. Tige will not sell the part to the other dealers.

The bad part is that I will have to order the new computer without knowing that it is the computer problem, and if it is not the computer, there is not return on electronic parts, at least that is what the dealer told me.

Any buddies with the same ecu in their boat? If not send me your ecu.
Ill plug it in and see if my boat starts.

That is a good idea, I do not have anyone around with the same engine that I know. I am taking my boat to the dealer Monday and they will evaluate the ECU within 2 weeks. If they determine that the ECU is dead, then it will be another weeks or so to order and replace it.

Good news. Finally got the phone number from Marine Power and Lee pointed me in the right direction. It was a loose wire from the starter to the battery.

The little wire is hidden towards the from of the engine on the port side. There is a single small red wire that goes from the starter to the battery switch.

                        Thanks everyone for the help.

Sounds like the same one pictured in the other dudes thread. It was all corroded.

Yes, except that the loose connection was by the engine and not by the switch. There is a little wire connection out of the starter that wasn't all the way in. No corrosion, just a little bad connection.
