Broken Rear Hatch Cable

I have a '99 2100i with a broken cable on rear ski locker hatch/driver side. Pull mechanism still operates observer seat side but the cables are integrated into one. Has anyone ever experienced this & how did you fix it? Is this a dealer only part? Any info would greatly be appreciated.

My 21i had this issue when I got it I just removed the side that was sticking and it only latched on the observes side.
