    Speed Control

    2006 Tige with the 6.0 Power marine/Vortec

I think I am getting closer to speed control? The shop in town here had called perfect pass and they said no system was availble through them because of some Proprietary rights and Tige not releasing something to Perfect pass so they could develop a system for the year, make, and model of my boat.

I contacted Harvey at Tige and he told me that if there was an electric plug in on my shifter and an extra capped wire plug on that same harness, I could buy "a speed set for $1250" and have the ecm flashed. I couldnt find any extra plug on the wire harness that is plugged into the shifter so Harvey again told me I also needed to buy an additional harness.

I am still waiting for another reply from Harvey at Tige (by the way who has been great with info) but....

has anyone had to do this or have knowledge about this speed system? I am kind of wanting to install this myself and just have the shop flash the ecm (or send it to Power marine). But I was looking for some information right from a tige owner or someone who is familiar with this so I can determine if I can do this myself or if I need to get the service shop involved in this install. (The service shop has no clue really of how to do anything related to boats. They are an ex Tige dealer now Malibu dealer who is still giving me warranty work)

It sounds like it is a simple plug and play, install the dash gauge, and flash the propram.

Can anyone help me out with info??

    Thanks

Has anyone run a harness down the side of the boat?? Harvey at Tige says it would be a big job. Can anyone give me some insight?

Hay Dave its easy with two people. First pull a draw wire through, Next tape the canon plug and harness onto the draw wire try not to put to much pressure on the canon plug you don't want pull a terimal out. Next one person feeding the wiring harness an the other pulling. Take your time with this a light is handy to see if it gets stuck, you might have to take a side panel off.
